Karen Thursfield works with horses that have been abused, traumatised or simply misunderstood. The presenting behaviour can be perplexing, as well as daunting, to the owner.
What is lost? Usually it is the communication and interaction link between human and equine.
This can be restored through a variety of physical and psychological techniques, which show the owner how to achieve balance and respect in the relationship.
Karen's philosophy is to maintain safety, promote confidence and increase communication in the human/equine partnership.
This journey with horses started when Karen had the fortune (she didn't know it then) to meet a horse that would be a good teacher. The balance in the partnership was wrong, and she didn't know why.
Karen looked at the concept of Horsemanship and reflected on her own working practice. This led her to study different methods and qualify as a trainer.
Her focus is to help horses and people achieve balance.
